Mentee:  2012-2013 (career development, research, field methods, course work)

As a student, I found Priya’s teaching style to be informative, interactive, and most importantly, fun. Priya taught several components of my classes in the Earth Sciences Department during my undergraduate career at UC Santa Cruz. She has a natural ability to connect with students from all backgrounds on an individual basis. Priya’s personal interest in her students extends outside of the classroom – she has also mentored me on several research projects.  Priya has been an essential part of my journey to graduate school. Her drive to excel and passion for teaching make her one of the rare, dually-gifted research scientists - educators.
